The name Dolcetto di Diano d’Alba or Diano d’Alba Docg applies to the entire area of a small town to the south of Alba, within which since 1986 those areas that merit the mention of the name of the vineyard have been identified.  These areas, those best suited to viticulture, are called “söri”, which in the Piedmont dialect means “area with good orientation”. There are in total 77 “söri” entirely contained within the territory of Diano d’Alba.
